It was Akbar mosque neighbourhood. Shibly was standing outside Akbar mosque.

The area looked rich. The atmosphere was pleasant with the eye-catching emerald fields and greenwood.

Shibly was standing confused for a few more minutes, even after Hamzi left.

The second day in Shibly’s profession was over. He had decided to vacate the school quarters on that day itself.

Colombo was not likely to fall asleep. Life was entirely different here. In her native village Marudur, the night hours are perfectly silent.

“I know your responsibility to protect whom”, a man said harshly at Fahim sir. Shibly could sense a clear division within the crowd in front of the hospital. Some people were supporting Mohideen Hajiyar and some were against him.

Shibly opened his eyes with strain. It took a few seconds for him to realise he was not in his own room where he had spent his whole life. He was in the school quarters.

Shibly checked for the time.

It was 5.20 am.

“What brought you here, son?”, the sudden question astonished Shibly.

The voice was unfamiliar. Shibly turned his gaze towards the direction where the voice came from.

A person of the age of his father was standing with a friendly smile.

It was another usual evening of pleasant sadness. There were just a few minutes left for sunset. The western sky was as red as fury eyes.

The old bus was no longer crowded. The seats were almost empty. Only a few passengers were scatteredly sitting here and there.
