Standard Arabic Channel

The COVID-19 lockdowns were a time of unprecedented change, where people found themselves confined to their homes. Though now a distant memory, those days are a poignant reminder of how quickly circumstances can shift.

With so much spare time and few outlets for engagement, many people sought ways to make the most of their time by pursuing creative and meaningful projects.

Riza Jaufer was no exception. Motivated by the collective creativity in the air, he decided to create a channel dedicated to teaching Standard Arabic. This initiative, like Sri Lankan English, was born out of a socially-minded desire to contribute to the community during a challenging time.

While both channels were created during the lockdown, their paths differed significantly. The Sri Lankan English channel was able to thrive for nearly a year, benefiting hundreds of people. In contrast, the Standard Arabic channel was short-lived due to time constraints and other professional commitments. Nonetheless, the content Riza shared, including presentations and audio lessons, was intended to offer free educational resources to help people learn Standard Arabic, with a focus on accessibility and community engagement.

Although the Standard Arabic channel was eventually paused, Riza has decided to re-share the materials he developed for his followers, making them available here on this page. He continues to be passionate about language education and believes that teaching languages is a deeply rewarding way to invest one’s time and energy.

While future updates for the Standard Arabic channel remain uncertain due to ongoing personal and professional commitments, Riza remains hopeful that he will continue to contribute to educational projects in the future, In-shāʾ Allāh, as time allows.
